I had a dream that we were exactly the same size.

Our toenails, our thumbs and the distance between our eyes were exactly the same.

You stretched out your fingers, and mine filled the spaces perfectly.

Our insides were exactly the same too, we had the same amount of blood in our veins.

I breathed in just as much air as you did and our hearts made the same number of beats.

On my bed, we took up the same amount of space.  The blanket could cover us both.

I wore your shoes when I need to run to the store, and I didn’t trip.  Your shoes fit me.

We were the same height; I never adjusted the seat after you drove my car.

Our shadows were the same size; people would mistake me for you in the dark.

When we touched, our bodies and brains knew they found their match.  It felt right.

We never grew up.  Or maybe we did, I never noticed because we grew at the same rate.

We were always together; our size was just a way to express the connection between us.

When I woke up, my bed was empty.  It was all a dream.

But, certain things about us were still the same.

I sit by the phone and wait for it to ring. You never call me, and I’m not going to call you.

Our hearts will always be the same size.

that abandoned shack by my house and the light up in the sky...

I won't forget the silly things that made this place my home,

And why is it when I'm with you, I feel so alone?

Pretty birds won't fly no more if we take away their wings,

and if all those birds sat on the floor, do you'd still think they'd sing?

Because I can't sing with out you, and how you made me feel

I guess its because you went away and I'm not sure how to deal...

with gas stations and dollar stores and streets named after trees,

the only time I like it here is when you are with me

I took my chances, heard your defenses, but somethings never change

If you stuck around just one more year, would you still feel the same?

on a rainy day, or a summer day, there's still nothing to do...

And when you saw me smiling it was because I was with you!

so heres something we won't forget, the names of prairie towns,

because this place isn't all that bad...

just better when you're around.
